🍧 What are Snowballs? Snowballs are not your ordinary frozen treats. They are a unique blend of finely shaved ice and a delightful array of flavored syrups, carefully crafted to create a symphony of tastes that dance on your taste buds. Originating in the vibrant city of New Orleans, snowballs have become an iconic symbol of summertime refreshment.
How did it start?
In 2016, Syhemia started a small business offering cool treats for her church picnic using a tent and table. During the COVID-19 shutdown, she worked from home as a Special Education Teacher while caring for her three school-aged children and elderly mother. Wanting to expand her business, In memory of my grandfather, who used to make honey preserves for his large family, I asked my artist daughter, Nyema, to create a picture of a honeybee with hazel eyes. The image was inspired by Syhemia's mother storing glass jars for her father's pickling adventures, jams, and honey preserves. Nyema's artwork became the logo for my business, HoneyBeez Snowballz!!! To further develop the business, my eldest daughter, Nathalya, took on the responsibility of handling measurements and naming various combinations. As a birthday gift, Syhemia acquired a business camper. Finally, on Juneteenth 2021, after obtaining all the necessary permits and licenses, her husband Alejandro towed the trailer to their first event, officially launching their business.
